Appointments advice

We use a system called askmyGP which is an easy and fast way to ask for any kind of help from the practice.

  • You can choose to be contacted by the surgery by telephone or message
  • If we need to see you we will give you a face-to-face appointment
  • Video consultations are provided by our own doctors through a secure link to your mobile, tablet or laptop for no extra charge
  • You can register for askmyGP now, without any paperwork

AskMyGP Service Hours Update:

Here at Millbrook we’ve listened to our patients and the feedback we’ve received and we are therefore pleased to advise that from Monday 26th February we have extended the service hours for our AskMyGP system. AskMyGP will now be open 07:00-19:00 Monday-Thursday and 07:00-16:00 on Fridays.

We experience extremely high demand on Mondays, and we kindly ask that you bare this in mind when you are considering the urgency of your request. All requests will be reviewed on the same day and will be prioritised in order of clinical urgency. Non-urgent requests will be dealt with in our usual 72hr response period (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

If you prefer to phone, one of our receptionists will take a few details about your problem or request and then pass these to the GP. However you choose to get in touch, your GP will contact you quickly and either sort out your problem on the phone, by secure message, or arrange to see you the same day, or another day if that’s more convenient.

Please note you can no longer book a GP appointment using our previous online appointment system EngageConsult.

askmyGP is available to all our patients, and you can use it to ask about your children or other people you care for (if they are registered with us).

That’s it – simple and straightforward!

We are encouraging everyone who has access to a computer, smart phone or tablet to use askmyGP:

  • it saves you time
  • You can send us a request at a time that is convenient to you – avoiding the 8am telephone rush! (for requests sent outside of our working hours we will respond the next working day)
  • GPs can manage their time more effectively, meaning you can speak to your GP more frequently and get help quickly when you need it
